Our board as a guest sporting cyclist in the journal "bella"
We were delighted when we today a photo from our holiday break in the guest Margret > magazine "bella" discovered. Margret and HG break from Hiddenhausen spend their holidays for years in our house in Burgeis at times during the holiday Obervinschgau. The photo shows Margaret as a sporting cyclist on the bike rental station at times (Vinschgerbahn). There and at seven other stations, you can rent mountain bikes, city bikes, trekking bikes and kids bikes and back again. Their own bikes can be ransportiert with Vinschgerbahn t.
Margret and HG have with their friends again this summer one Radtou r made from Mals to Merano, what they have written a nice poem. For more photos and the poem, click here: > Vinschger tour from Mals to Merano

Bahn & Bike: Cycling through the Venosta from Mals to Merano

Our regular customers Marion Rainer Klüter + + HG and Margaret spend their holiday break currently back at us in Burgeis Venosta and have written this poem about her nice bike ride from Mals to Merano, we pass naturally like to read. A big thank you to Marion for the poem and to Margret for the photos!

Our Vinschger cycling (5 hrs Mals - Meran) composed by Marion Klüter

For this trip it was to:
We visit once Merano!
So we wanted hinfahrn to Merano
but not with the Venosta Valley railway.
By bike, it should be,
60 km of sunshine.
It was not too hot nor too cold;
just stop for cycling weather.
Quick Vinschger wheels were borrowed,
so we could move to the south.

We set off full of zest and indeed
and then only after Glurns to Prad.
And along the way
We drive past the Laas marble.
And the beautiful bike path lined
thousands of apple trees.
Then comes the fall time
It certainly shines far and wide.

But after half of the route only -
was no trace of mirth!
It started at the H ... ... .. to pain,
we tried it yet with jokes.
Every mile that you drove,
only added to the ordeal.

Along the Vinschgau could 'see you
many beautiful castles.
And then shortly before Merano
begin the switchbacks.
Only a stone's throw
and we continue to Algund.
Finally came into view as Meran,
the "flip side" hurt terribly!

The bike should make it absolutely
but only in padded "Radlsachen"!

The holiday cyclists HG, Margaret, Marion and Rainer

Note the four cyclists: "The bike route Venosta to Merano is also well signposted and great scenery. It is really recommended! (With appropriate equipment :-) ) "

Good news for cyclists: bike path between the Adige and Schleis Laatsch is reopened
On the bike path between Vinschger Schleis and Laatsch to the drive-through ban be lifted in about 10 days. This section was closed for some time due to rockfall and there were extensive safety work carried out. Large stone and earthen walls to protect the cyclists now. The beautiful bike path Venosta Adige / South Tyrol, part of the Via Claudia Augusta, who is arguably one of the most beautiful in South Tyrol, can now be driven again. Starting at Reschenpass to the Reschen and Haider, hang the bike path through fields and forests to Burgeis past the prince's castle after Schleis and Laatsch to Glurns and continue through Prato, Lasa, Golden Rain, Kastelbell, Natural to Merano and on ....
Note: In Gold Rain, there is a small route change and that the route runs along the state road near the craft area (originally from the orchards), avoid this mainly to the mixed traffic and cyclists, tractors and sprinkler irrigation.
